Fallout MMO rights restored

Fallout MMO rights restored

The license granted to Interplay to develop a massively multiplayer online game set in the Fallout-verse, has been revoked, following a settlement in the case of Bethesda LLC vs Interplay Entertainment Corp. The terms of the settlement see all rights to the Fallout brand revoked from Interplay and returned to Bethesda, though Interplay will be permitted to sell Fallout Tactics, Fallout and Fallout 2 through to December 31, 2013. For all the nitty gritty details, you can read the full press release by ZeniMax Media Inc here.

What this means for the Fallout MMO is anyone’s guess and whether or not it is something Bethesda would want to pursue in the future. The Fallout Online website is still up, however.

Dean AKA Cypher, is a self-confessed caffeine addict with too much time on his hands. His worst nightmare is becoming Mario, then attempting to rescue the princess only to find out that she is in another castle. He founded GamingHUD in December, 2010 and has been working on it ever since.
